About

Francesco Orio is a pianist, improviser and Gregorian chant scholar. 

Referred to as the musical heir of Giorgio Gaslini, he performed as a 12 Points Festival alumnus and won several national and international awards such as Italian NGJ (New Jazz Generation), “We Insist!” and “AIR”, sponsored by MIdJ and the Italian Ministry of Culture, and European Jazz Contest.

He graduated magna cum laude in Jazz Piano from the “G.Nicolini” Conservatory in Piacenza, receiving an honourable mention. He also earned his Master’s degree in Industrial Biotechnology from the University of Pavia. 

He performs with his Trio, Vox Organalis with Luca Perciballi, Camilla Battaglia, Enzo Rocco among others.
